Jayson Tatum – Boston Celtics

Without Jaylen Brown for the remainder of how ever long their season is, all the weight of this Celtics’ franchise falls on Jayson Tatum’s back. Losing Brown definitely hurts the Celtics’ chances to be special this year, but Tatum has been on another planet over the last month or so.

Since the All-Star break, Tatum has scored 20+ points in 26 games, including 11 games with 30+ points and a career-high 60 points against the San Antonio Spurs in April. Now in his fourth season in the league, Jayson Tatum has taken the next step in his game to elevate himself to being a superstar in this league, which is why the Celtics have a chance with him on the floor.

In 3 games against the Washington Wizards this season, Tatum averaged 23.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and shot 46% from the floor. Since Brown has been out, Jayson Tatum’s overall production has stepped up, which is why he is a key player to watch in this Wizards-Celtics game.

If Boston is to win this game and be the 7-seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, then Tatum is going to have to score 30+ points and be the dominant, All-Star-caliber player we know him to be. This Celtics team is very weak outside their starting lineup and with no Jaylen Brown, all the weight of success falls on Jayson Tatum.
