Malcolm Brogdon – Indiana Pacers

All season long, the Pacers have battled numerous injuries to some of their key players, including Malcolm Brogdon, but he is the key to success for the Pacers from this point on. TJ Warren has been out since the opening week of the regular season and while Domantas Sabonis has been dominant over the last month or so, Brogdon is the guy that needs to knock down big shots for this team.

He has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury over the last few weeks, but he is expected to play in tomorrow’s game against the Charlotte Hornets. It is probably a good thing he is going to play tomorrow given how good he has played against this Hornets team in the two games he faced off against them.

Brogdon scored 25 and 21 points in two games against Charlotte this season and was the leading scorer of the game in their first meeting of the season, which resulted in a 116-106 Pacers victory. Indiana lost 2 of the 3 games they played against Charlotte this season, but Malcom Brogdon was not the reason why they lost either of the two games, unless you blame him for being hurt in the third game.

Sabonis has controlled the paint for the Pacers this year and Caris LeVert has been a terrific secondary scorer for this team, but Malcom Brogdon is the “alpha-dog” on this team and he needs to play like it for the Pacers to have a chance to earn a playoff spot this year.

They are truly in a Game 7 situation against the Hornets tomorrow because if they lose, then their season is over. Expect Brogdon to have a big game and have the ball in his hands when it matters most tomorrow night.
