The #1 overall pick has not missed a single game this year
Perhaps the most impressive aspect and stat of Anthony Edwards’ rookie season is the fact that he has not missed a single game to this point in the year. He is one of two rookies, along with Jae’Sean Tate of the Rockets, to not have missed a single game this year, which should definitely hold a lot of weight in terms of NBA Rookie of the Year voting.
It seems like this award is between Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball at this point in the season and while neither one can really do anything else to change the minds of voters, the one big bold stat that separates Edwards from Ball is how durable he has been over the course of this season.

LaMelo Ball missed 21 games this year with a fractured wrist and while he still had a very impressive season, you have to wonder how much this is going to hurt his chances of winning the award and how this injury could give more votes to Anthony Edwards.
Both guys have had fantastic rookie seasons and are two of the young faces of the league moving forward, but given how dominant Anthony Edwards has been offensively and that fact that he has not missed a single game this year, it is hard to say that he is not the NBA Rookie of the Year at this point.
