Can the Dallas Mavericks take the next step?

This is why they ultimately made the trade for Kristaps Porzingis. The Maverick saw how good Luka Doncic was at such a young age and realize they had to get another star with him. They were a postseason team last year and are looking to become a staple in that position.

Last year down in the NBA Bubble, Dallas was able to open some eyes when they took the Los Angeles Clippers to six games. Doncic was the catalyst in those games, including a game winning three-pointer in overtime in game five. The Mavericks entered as the seven seed but that is not good enough for the franchise.

They are looking to take that next step towards a championship and this could be the year. Not to say that they will win this year, but Dallas could potentially enter as a higher seed and win a playoff series.
