Evan Mobley
If the Rockets do not land the first pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, they could get a nice consolation prize at No. 2. USC’s Evan Mobley is a cornerstone player that can be built around. He would pair well with another star down the road, whether it is a guard or another frontcourt mate. Early on, Mobley is a nice piece to begin the rebuilding process for the Rockets into next season.
Evan Mobley has an extremely-high ceiling because of his size and athleticism. The seven-footer is a true center that can make an impact on both ends of the floor. He averaged 16.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game as a freshman. On the defensive end, Mobley added 2.9 blocks per contest.
His game will translate well to the next level because he is able to step out and knock down a midrange shot consistently. He is improving from the three-point line and that will only grow. Evan Mobley is an excellent pick-and-roll option and a player that can come in and start right away for a team like Houston.

When the lottery comes around, the Rockets will have a pretty good idea on who they are taking when their position is determined. If it is second, Evan Mobley would be on his way to the Rockets.
