The game revolves around Cunningham when he has the ball in his hands
Cade Cunningham has the ability to take a game over and really can control the pace of a game. This past year in college, Cunningham posted a usage rate of 29.1%, accounting for an estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he is on the floor.
This was one of the highest usage rates in college basketball last season and because Cunningham is such a ball-dominant player, he is able to set the pace of a game and control exactly what happens on the court.
Every time Oklahoma State needed a big play, Cunningham was the one to make this play and every time they needed a big shot, he was the one to take that shot. He is not afraid of big moments and looks as comfortable as a multi-year NBA veteran when he is out there on the court.

Cade Cunningham’s basketball IQ is amongst the best in the 2021 NBA Draft class and his overall understanding for being an impactful guard is what will make him such a great point guard at the NBA level.
He did average a bunch of turnovers this past year, averaging 4.0 turnovers per game, but he also always had to make a play for his team. In the NBA, he will have other great players that he can lean on for support, so this should not be a big concern with Cunningham moving forward.
