The Minnesota Timberwolves are nearing the end of another season where they were one of the worst teams in the NBA. They are currently 16-43 which has them in a fight for the Houston Rockets for the worst record in the Western Conference. When the NBA Draft Lottery rolls around, Minnesota will be in position to land the first-overall pick once again.
There could be some drastic changes coming out of Minnesota in the offseason. We have seen big-name players like Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell featured in trade rumors. If they move either one, these holes could be filled in the NBA Draft.
It seems as though Anthony Edwards, the first pick in 2020, is the only player not on the trading block. The 2021 NBA Draft is very top heavy and the Timberwolves will be one of the first teams on the clock. This puts them in position to land another franchise-changing player.
Towns and Russell have both missed some time this season but are putting up big numbers when on the floor. Malik Beasley is another trade piece given the value he has made for himself this season.

Edwards is scoring 18.1 points per game in his rookie season. He cold be the new foundation for the Timberwolves if they move Towns in the offseason. The new addition in the 2021 NBA Draft is a player they cannot afford to miss on.
There will be plenty of fire power at the top of the 2021 NBA Draft when it comes around on July 29. These three players would fit in with the Timberwolves right away.
