2. Golden State Warriors
Let’s bring back the Golden State Warriors of a couple years ago. Kevin Durant had just signed a free-agent deal with a team coming off an NBA-record 73 victories. Golden State was the villains in the league but it did not matter because they were winning. Now, the Warriors will have a chance to make a run at Leonard if he hits the open market.
It has been a roller coaster season for the Warriors. They received word that Klay Thompson suffered a torn Achilles on draft night. It was a slow start to the season but they turned it on a bit prior to the all-star break on the back of Steph Curry, who is scoring 29 points per game and shooting 40.8% from three-point range.
He has missed the last five games and Golden State needs him back on the floor. Next year, the lineup will have Klay Thompson back and the Warriors will be considered contenders once again. Imagine if Kawhi Leonard was apart of the equation?
