Larry Nance Jr.
The Cavaliers will likely be moving a frontcourt player at the trade deadline, but could they potentially look to capitalize on Larry Nance Jr.’s high value? Over the last few weeks, a handful of teams have inquired about Nance Jr. and his availability and while the Cavs want to keep him in their long-term plans, they could potentially flip him for a lot of value now.
Larry Nance Jr. is in his 6th season in the league and over the last few years in Cleveland, he has been slowly becoming a really solid two-way threat at the power-forward position. Since joining the Cavaliers during the 2017-18 season, Nance Jr, has averaged 9.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and has shot 34.6% from three-point range.
Not only is Larry Nance Jr. a strong rebounder, but he is a frontcourt player who is comfortable guarding virtually anybody. Nance Jr. has always been a really solid defender and one of his better attributes is his ability to disrupt passing lanes and cause turnovers. He is averaging 1.8 steals per game this season and is very active defensively.

The Cavaliers could definitely get a first-round pick and a young talent for a player like Larry Nance Jr, the only question though is whether or not they are willing to trade him. He is owed $32M through 2022 and his contract is very reasonable, which is why the Cavs could hold off on trading him now.
In the offseason and beyond however, Larry Nance Jr.’s future could be very much up-in-the-air, especially if he finishes the season strong and is still gaining interest league-wide.
