Will Barton – Denver Nuggets

Through the years, Will Barton has been a really solid and consistent player for the Nuggets on the wing, but he has dealt with his fair share of injuries. When he is healthy, he is definitely an x-factor for the Nuggets and could be an impact player for the Pacers to add.

When Michael Porter Jr. missed nearly a month of the season earlier in the year, Will Barton stepped up into a bigger role for the Nuggets and was a key contributor for them. Now, he still holds a lot of value to them and is a key role player for them in their starting rotation. In fact, Barton has been one of Denver’s best offensive players as of late with Gary Harris and Monte Morris out.

In 39 games this season, Barton is averaging 12.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and is shooting 38.7% from three-point range. The “3-and-D” mentality that he plays with and possesses is what makes him such a great trade target for the Pacers, especially with T.J. Warren being out.

At full strength, the Pacers already have a great roster and may not need another talented wing like Will Barton, but there is no timetable for Warren’s return yet and this team needs all the talent they can get if they are to make the playoffs this year.

Given everything Will Barton can do for 30+ minutes per game, he is definitely a player the Pacers should take a long look at ahead of the trade deadline. The only problem with pursuing him is that the Nuggets are not interested in shaking up their roster, which means the Pacers may have to “over-pay” to acquire Barton.
