Bogdan Bogdanovic – Atlanta Hawks

It seems crazy to think that the Hawks would be looking to trade Bogdan Bogdanovic after signing him to a four-year, $72M contract this past offseason, but the Hawks have made both Bogdanovic and Cam Reddish available in trade talks recently.

The 28-year old sharpshooting guard has only played in 17 games for the Hawks this season since he suffered an avulsion fracture in his right knee early on in the season. In the limited time he has played in though, Bogdan Bogdanovic has been productive, averaging 9.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and shooting 33% from three-point range.

He has slowly started to work his way back into the Hawks rotation, but with other young players emerging and playing well on this roster, Atlanta doesn’t have enough playing time to go around for everyone, which is why Bogdan Bogdanovic could be moved for the right price. He is still a high-level talent and they are not going to just give him up, but the Celtics need more secondary talent around their superstar players, which is why they could target Bogdanovic.

As mentioned before, Atlanta is highly interested in Marcus Smart and could look to make an offer for him ahead of the trade deadline, a trade package that could include a couple draft picks and a player like Bogdan Bogdanovic.

There is no denying that when he is healthy, the 28-year old shooting guard is definitely a difference-maker on the offensive-end of the court, but nobody really knows what the Hawks are going to do right now. They were listening to offers for John Collins and now they are not and have shifted their focus to “buying” talent at the trade deadline.

What the Hawks decide to do as an organization could have major implications on whether or not they are willing to make a deal with the Celtics, which is why Boston could look elsewhere to find the production they need.
