John Collins – Atlanta Hawks

Much like how Aaron Gordon could impact the Boston Celtics, John Collins could have just as much of an impact and possibly even more of an impact offensively. The Celtics have been interested in John Collins for weeks now and while the Hawks are not keen on the idea of trading the young forward anymore, he is exactly the player Boston needs. 

Last season, John Collins emerged as one of the better, more versatile power-forwards in the NBA, eclipsing 20+ points per game and this season, he is continuing to get better, even with the emergence of all the weapons on this year’s Hawks roster. With him being as dynamic as he is at such a young age, he could make a huge impact for the Celtics seeing as they have virtually no productivity from their frontcourt.

Marcus Smart has been a fantastic player for the Celtics over the years on both ends of the court, which is why the Hawks would likely want him in any trade package involving John Collins. Smart is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league and with the Hawks having a lot of interest in him, Smart may have to be on the move in a package to acquire Collins. 

By adding John Collins, they can immediately jump back into the title conversation against the likes of the Nets, 76ers and Bucks in the East. Boston needs that other dynamic player they can depend on outside of their three All-Stars and John Collins is the best option for the Celtics, but with the Hawks recent win streak, they reportedly have no interest in trading the young forward.

This will not stop the Celtics though in their pursuit of the young frontcourt star, as they could desperately use the production he would give them on both ends of the court. John Collins has been one of the biggest storylines in the league over the last few weeks and should continue to be one of the biggest names that could be traded ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
