Does this trade make sense for the Detroit Pistons?
Much for the same reasons as why the Hornets should keep Rozier, the Detroit Pistons should not look to trade Jerami Grant at the trade deadline this year. Trading Jerami Grant makes little sense for the Detroit Pistons, even though they would be getting a solid amount of value in Terry Rozier and some first-round picks over the next few seasons.
While getting Rozier would help their backcourt grow and give them a reliable contributor offensively, the Pistons have a good thing going even though they are in last place in the Eastern Conference. They have lost 15 games by single-digits this year, including three overtime losses this year.
If Detroit had won half of these games, we would be talking about them being a potential playoff team this year and even if they had won those three overtime games they lost, they would be just a couple of games back from being in consideration for one of the two play-in games this season with the new playoff format.
With plenty of young talents on their roster, the Detroit Pistons are definitely a team to watch over the next few years as they develop into something special. Jerami Grant has been at the forefront of their small success this season, which is why trading him makes little to no sense.

Two to three years down the road, the Detroit Pistons are going to be a playoff team in the Eastern Conference and will not be an easy team to beat. If they keep Jerami Grant, the Pistons can ensure this success down the road, especially given all of the young talent on their team, but if they trade him, then they will be in the same position they have been the last few years.
