Does this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?

While Jerami Grant has emerged as a fantastic player and the front-runner for the Most Improved Player Award, Terry Rozier himself has emerged as a fantastic player, even with all of the backcourt options in Charlotte.

Entering the season, many people believed that Terry Rozier would be the “odd-man-out” in Charlotte since they had Devonte’ Graham, who had a breakout season last year, and just drafted LaMelo Ball 3rd overall to be their point guard of the future. After dropping 42 points on 10-16 shooting from three-point range on opening night though, it was very clear that Rozier was not going to be going anywhere.

He is such a big part of the Hornets offense and one of the leaders of this team, which is why trading him away, even for a player like Jerami Grant, may not be in the best interest of the Charlotte Hornets.

They have a really good thing going right now and are currently one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference, so why shake things up roster wise and ruin the morale of this team? They play so well together and are one of the most enegric teams in the league, which is why the Charlotte Hornets are definitely a threat to some of the top teams in the league.

They may not be a championship contender yet and may not be anything more than a first-round playoff team this year, but the Hornets definitely have the pieces to grow into something special. For this reason alone is why they need to keep their core together and intact for at least the next few seasons and look for solid role players to build around guys like Rozier.
