Does this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Clippers?
If the Clippers could pull off this trade for Myles Turner, it would be an absolute steal! Turner is one of the best shot-blockers, if not the best shot-blocker, in the league and with him being just 24-years old, he could be a high-level center for many years to come.
Not only is he leading the league in blocked shot this season with 3.4 blocks per game, but Myles Turner is also a threat from the perimeter, shooting 31.3% from deep this season and 34.9% from deep over the course of his career.
Getting a guy like Myles Turner could drastically change the dynamic of the Los Angeles Clippers for many years to come, especially given that they are one of the oldest teams in the league. While Kawhui Leonard and Paul George still have plenty of years left in their respective careers, the same cannot be said for other guys on this Clippers’ roster.
This team does not have many young pieces that they intend to build with for the future and over half of their team is made up of veteran role players. Moving forward, it seems like this team is just going to be constantly looking to build around Leonard and George with veteran, experienced players that are willing to sign one-year deals to compete for championships.

There is no growth that this team can make and they have virtually no young players to build with, which is why adding Myles Turner would be huge. Turner could be the Clippers center for several years to come and they could begin building around him as the focal point of their youth.
With almost no draft picks through the years and no ways to acquire young talents to build with, getting Myles Turner would be a “homerun” acquisition by the Clippers’ front-office, but it seems like the chances of this happening are close to impossible.
