Why this trade makes sense for the Miami Heat

Miami really needs that third, All-Star caliber talent to push them over the edge into title contention once again, which is why we could see Pat Riley and the Heat front-office be aggressive at the trade deadline this year in their pursuit of a player like Kyle Lowry.

Not only is he a 6x All-Star point guard, but he knows what it takes to win and was one of the key factors in the Raptors winning the NBA Finals in 2019. His leadership abilities and ability to control everything going on around him is what makes Lowry a special player and someone who could immediately impact the Miami Heat.

Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo cannot carry this team alone and will need someone else by their side if they are to go up against the likes of the 76ers, Bucks and Nets and have a legit shot at taking them down in a 7-game series.

Kyle Lowry is the guy they need because even though they have a lot of talent in their backcourt, it has been a mess to this point in the season. Goran Dragic has missed almost half of the Heat’s games this year, Tyler Herro has been inconsistent at times and Kendrick Nunn is still growing as a player. Not to mention, Avery Bradley has only played in 10 games for Miami this year.

Every championship team has great guard play and an elite-level floor general. Jimmy Butler is a terrific player, leader and floor general, but acquiring Lowry and taking a lot of stress off of Butler could do wonders for this Heat team.

Acquiring Kyle Lowry gives the Heat their best shot at making it back to the NBA Finals this year, which is why making this move and giving up any assets necessary is something they may have to do.
