This Hornets-Spurs trade is centered on LaMarcus Aldridge

The San Antonio Spurs could be busy at the NBA trade deadline if they decide to move some of their veteran players. This would begin with LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan. They are not part of the plan moving forward which means the team could look for a return. The Charlotte Hornets could be in play for a big man like Aldridge to finish the season.

Charlotte is currently below .500 but in the mix for the playoffs because of the current state of the Eastern Conference. They are extremely deep in the backcourt but lack depth down low. The Hornets added LaMelo Ball to a backcourt that already featured Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham.

They added the best player in the draft and it is looking like the right move. Ultimately, it left the team thin in the frontcourt. This is where Charlotte could look to improve as we enter the second half of the season.

The Spurs are an interesting trade partner because of the pieces they could be looking to move. After a one-year hiatus away from the postseason, the Spurs are looking like they could return this season.

They are currently being led by DeRozan, but he could be one of the biggest pieces moving forward. Dejounte Muray and Keldon Johnson are two young players that are looking like franchise players. This is a beneficial deal for a team looking to gain some assets for veteran players.

Both teams have a chance to improve at the NBA trade deadline. This is a potential move that could benefit both sides and here is what it might look like.
