Thaddeus Young – Chicago Bulls
With Lauri Markkanen missing a lot of time this year for the Bulls, veteran forward Thaddeus Young has stepped up into a bigger role off-the-bench and has turned himself into a very intriguing trade target for various teams around the league, the Philadelphia 76ers included.
Now in his 14th year in the NBA, Thaddeus Young is averaging 12.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.4 steals and is shooting 60.9% from the floor. He has solidified himself as a great “do-it-all” kind of player and is definitely a frontcourt player the Sixers could utilize.
Mike Scott does not contribute much to this team in the second-unit and with Tobias Harris not being able to play the whole game, the 76ers could really benefit from adding a reliable, second-unit power-forward to play alongside Joel Embiid in the frontcourt.
Thaddeus Young is the kind of player the 76ers need and he could definitely increase their chances of winning a title this year. This team needs some help in the frontcourt and at a low price, they can get a guy like Thaddeus Young who you know what you are going to get with.
This season, Thaddeus Young has been a “glue guy” in a sense for the Bulls as he has been very versatile on the offensive end of the court. Whether it is being a passer from the low-post or an aggressive rebounder, Young has filled up the stat sheets on some nights this season and has proven that he can still play at a high-level.

Getting a veteran player like Thaddeus Young who knows his role could be not just important for Philly’s chances of winning a title, but it would be important in taking a lot of pressure off of Joel Embiid. The MVP front-runner always has the ball in his hands and does everything for this team, which is why adding a solid role player like Young, who can handle the ball for the Sixers and be a facilitator, takes a lot of weight off of Embiid’s shoulders, allowing him to continue being one of the league’s best offensive weapons.
While he is not a flashy name, nor an All-Star talent, Thaddeus Young is a very consistent and a very reliable frontcourt option that could definitely increase this team’s chances of being the team to beat in the league.
