PJ Tucker – Houston Rockets

Not only is PJ Tucker one of the league’s best “glue guys,” but he is a player that already has a strong relationship with the 76ers’ management. New Sixers’ President of Basketball Operations, Daryl Morey, was the general manager of the Houston Rockets for over a decade and absolutely loved the production PJ Tucker gave his teams in Houston over the years.

As a result, Tucker could absolutely be an under-the-radar trade target for the Philadelphia 76ers because of his relationship with Morey. That and the fact that the Houston Rockets as an organization are trending downwards rapidly and about to clear house on a bunch of their veteran players.

Tucker is 35-years old and is in the final year of his contract, making him a highly sought out trade target for many teams. The 76ers however are a team that we have not heard much about as it pertains to PJ Tucker trade rumors, which is surprising, but can change at any moment.

The best part about adding Tucker to the 76ers is that he can impact the game in many ways. He is a great one-on-one defender, he can guard numerous positions, he can knock down corner threes, he can rebound and the list goes on and on.

PJ Tucker is a difference maker and for the 76ers, he can be a versatile player they can throw into virtually any rotation. He can play any position and does exactly what his team needs him to do on the court, which is why he would be a great addition.

With him being owed $7.9M this season, Philly would likely have to cut ties with a second-round pick and potentially a player like Matisse Thybulle, who they have not wanted to trade over the last few months. If a lot of teams begin to target PJ Tucker ahead of the deadline though, the 76ers could have to offer up more to acquire him, which in the grand scheme of things, may not be the best thing to do.
