Josh Okogie – Minnesota Timberwolves

Nobody knows what is going on with the Minnesota Timberwolves, but they currently hold the league’s worst record at the halfway point in the season at 7-29. The Timberwolves have had one winning season since the 2003-04 NBA season and with them once again struggling this year, they could be interested in trading away some of their rotational players for young talents or future draft picks.

Josh Okogie is only 22-years old, but the Timberwolves could potentially look to trade him, especially with the abundance of young talent they already have on the perimeter. Okogie is a very interesting name because he is not much of a factor offensively, but is one of the most underrated defenders in the league.

His ability to keep opponents in front of him is definitely above-average and his 7-foot wingspan allows him to contest virtually any shot taken against him. His per 36 minutes stats have him averaging 1.5 steals and 0.9 blocks per game this season and with the Knicks needing another solid wing, he could get plenty of playing time to prove these numbers true.

Given that he is not much of an offensive player, the Knicks could potentially get away with trading Kevin Knox, Frank Ntilikina and a possible second-round pick for Okogie, which would be a steal given the production he can give the Knicks.

Not many people have talked about Okogie and his name has not come up in trade talks, but he is definitely a player that should be on the Knicks radar, especially given that he would fit their defensive philosophy on the wing perfectly.
