PJ Tucker, Forward
This would be a move that would be all about defense. If the Warriors want to improve on that end of the court, pulling off a trade for Tucker would make a ton of sense.
Over the last few years, Tucker has been an ideal 3-and-D player. However, his offense has not been a thing this year in Houston. The Warriors would likely not get much out of him on the offensive end of the court, but he can still spot up and shoot the three while playing high level defense.
So far this year with the Rockets, Tucker has averaged 4.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.8 steals per game. He has shot just 31.7 percent from the three-point line.
Tucker would not cost the Warriors much. That is what makes him such an intriguing trade target. Golden State won’t want to give up much for a guy that will likely only be around for one season.
While acquiring Tucker may not be very likely, it’s certainly something the Warriors should take a long look at.
