2. Domantas Sabonis – Indiana Pacers
The biggest snub from the Eastern Conference is easily Indiana Pacers big man, Domantas Sabonis. Rarely do you see the No. 4 team in a conference have zero NBA All-Star representatives, but here we are as that happened to the Pacers.
Stats-wise, Sabonis was a clear NBA All-Star. He has improved upon his statistics from last season when he was named to his first All-Star team. Sabonis is up to 21.5 points, 11.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks per game. He is also shooting a career-high 35.8 percent from the 3-point line.
Those stats are eye-popping and with good reason. No one has ever compiled at least 20/10/5 and not been named an NBA All-Star before Domantas Sabonis, per StatMuse.
Ben Simmons is having a solid season for the Philadelphia 76ers, but his stats aren’t as impressive as Sabonis’ and he is playing alongside a potential MVP candidate in Embiid.
An argument could be made that Ben Simmons shouldn’t have even made the NBA All-Star team over his teammate Tobias Harris, let alone Domantas Sabonis.
