3. Khris Middleton – Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks hit a skid recently, losing five consecutive games before knocking off the Oklahoma City Thunder and Sacramento Kings in back-to-back games. The skid dropped them to third place in the Eastern Conference, but that hasn’t stopped Khris Middleton from producing.
Giannis Antetokounmpo dominates the headlines, deservedly so, but Middleton has been performing at a high level as well. Middleton is averaging 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game. The scoring and assists are second behind Antetokounmpo and the rebounds trail only him and Brook Lopez.
Arguably the most impressive thing about Khris Middleton’s stat line is how efficient of a scorer he is. He is knocking on the door of the illustrious 50/40/90 club with shooting percentages of 50.5 overall, 43.1 percent from the 3-point line and 89.5 from the foul line.
Selecting NBA All-Stars is always a difficult task because there are so many great players. However, given his efficient scoring, stat line and defensive ability, Middleton deserved the nod.
Had Kyrie Irving, who has only played in 22 games this season and had the stretch he stepped away from the team for almost two weeks, not been selected as a starter Khris Middleton should have made the team over him.
