Why This Trade Would Benefit The OKC Thunder
The OKC Thunder have made some blockbuster moves in recent years that include Russell Westbrook and Paul George. This has landed them an unlimited supply of draft picks. A benefit from this deal is that Kevin Knox II would not require a first-round pick in return.
At 21-years old, Kevin Knox II still has a chance to turn things around after a slow start to his NBA career with the New York Knicks. He was supposed to be a next-level shooter along the perimeter and provide a team help on both ends of the floor.
So far, he has not been able to do that in New York. There is not as much pressure in Oklahoma City and this would benefit Knox right away. Right now, Gilgeous-Alexander is looking like the real deal for the Thunder. He is the centerpiece player for Oklahoma City and it is about putting the right players around him.

If Ariza and two second-round picks is the package for Kevin Knox II, then the Thunder should take a chance. This is a low-risk, high-reward move for a rebuilding franchise.
