Why This Trade Would Benefit The New York Knicks

The New York Knicks had a tough stretch of drafts when they selected Knox and Frank Ntilikina is back-to-back years. Things have recently improved in the form of Barrett and Immanuel Quickley. As for Knox, his time is up and the Knicks need to take what they can get.

Ariza and two second-rounders is a low-risk move for the Thunder but for New York as well. These are pieces that the Knicks could choose to move in another deal, either this year or in the future. New York needs that star presence in their lineup. The direction they go to get it is still yet to be determined.

If it is though a trade, they might need some extra pieces. The front office has a decision to make on Randle, who leads the team with 23.2 points and 10.9 rebounds per game while shooting 40.7% from the three-point line. This is not the only decision the team will have to make.

For the first time in nearly a decade, the Knicks are trending in the right direction. This is because of Tom Thibodeau on the sideline and the emergence of Randle and their young players. They will need to hit on a move or two if they want to continue the trend.
