Dallas Mavericks Desperately Needs Some Frontcourt Help

It is very clear that this team is not nearly as strong of a three-point shooting team this year as they were last year, but a lot of the Mavericks problems stem from their frontcourt. With Kristaps Porzingis missing the first part of the season, Dallas had virtually no reliable options in their frontcourt and even with him back, they still have a lack of production there.

Luka Doncic is this team’s best player and is also their leading rebounder this year, which is one of their main problems. This team has no reliable frontcourt play, which is why trading for LaMarcus Aldridge and bolstering their depth in the low-post is vital.

Not only is Aldridge one of the best mid-range players of the last generation, but he has always been a great and reliable rebounder. Over the course of his career, LaMarcus Aldridge has averaged 8.3 rebounds and can really help provide some stability in the Mavericks’ frontcourt.

Dwight Powell and Willie Cauley-Stein have been really disappointing for the Mavs this season and unless they get some help for Porzingis in the frontcourt, this team is going to continue to struggle against teams that have a reliable big man. Kristaps Porzingis is still getting back to full speed and does not look like the dominant All-Star he was a few years back, which is another reason why this team needs to add frontcourt help.

You know what you are going to get with LaMarcus Aldridge in the frontcourt and low-post, which is exactly why the Mavericks should trade for him. He fits their system really well too since he is a slower, patient type of player in the low-post.
