The Indiana Pacers have been in the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference for years now. They are looking to get back to their days of contending in the Eastern Conference Finals for a championship. To accomplish that goal, the team will have to continue to add big-name players.
This is where Gordon Hayward would come in to play. The Pacers were able to settle the drama surrounding Victor Oladipo when they sent him to the Houston Rockets. Myles Turner is another player that has been mentioned in NBA trade rumors since the emergence of Sabonis.
Myles Turner would give the Hornets some space space in the salary cap, even though his deal is pretty team friendly. This is a situation where the Pacers might be looking to develop a roster that could compete with the higher ups.
Gordon Hayward is playing at a high-level this season and could come in and contribute for the Pacers right away. To get an All-Star caliber player like Hayward would certainly help the Pacers accomplish their goals.
