Indiana Pacers Receive: Gordon Hayward

Charlotte Hornets Receive: Myles Turner, Doug McDermott, TJ McConnell, 2021 1st Round 

This trade would be highlighted by Gordon Hayward going to the Indiana Pacers but there’s certainly more to consider. The Pacers were connected to Hayward in NBA rumors during the offseason but he ultimately opted to sign with the Hornets. Could they still make a play for him?

It wouldn’t come cheap for the Pacers to do so when considering how well Gordon Hayward is playing so far this season. Myles Turner would highlight the players going to Charlotte as he’s emerged as a favorite to win the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year early in the season.

Doug McDermott and TJ McConnell, along with a first-round pick, would also be going to the Hornets in this deal. This would give the team plenty of rotation-ready players to contribute. Let’s not forget, McDermott is having a strong season, too, and would provide needed off-ball offense.
