Why This Trade Would Benefit The Golden State Warriors
Right now, with the Golden State Warriors, it is Steph Curry and everybody else. This team is competing by the skin of their teeth because of the ability of their all-time point guard. Heading into the postseason, this is something that will have to change in the front office will have to add some more players around Curry.
While Draymond Green is in the lineup and making an important impact, he is not the scorer or shooter that Thompson is. Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andrew Wiggins have underachieved on the wing and it’s important the Warriors manage to address that.
Both Will Barton and Gary Harris can give the Warriors some depth on the perimeter and options from three-point range. Opposing teams will still focus on Curry but they will have to respect other players rather than just attacking one.
Golden State is a championship franchise and one that was expected to compete this season. The injury to Klay Thompson really hurt the team but there are options out there to improve as we get closer to the NBA trade deadline.
