Why This Trade Would Benefit The Washington Wizards
Russell Westbrook and the Washington Wizards were brought together when John Wall requested a trade. He was sent to the Houston Rockets, which created the duo of Westbrook and Bradley Beal for this season. So far, the duo has not been working which could lead to some more changes.
Washington is 3-8 so far this season. They are once again near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, which is a position they have made home over the last few years. The Wizards need to figure out which direction they are heading. Beal also requested a trade prior to the season but they decided to hang onto him.
Beal has been mentioned in some NBA trade rumors and could be sent away if the return is right. If the Wizards hang onto Beal, they could attempt to continue to build the roster around him. Irving and Beal would give Washington a backcourt that could turn into one of the tops in the NBA.
This is a trade that benefits Washington if the front office puts together a plan for the future. It is time that the Wizards return to relevance and this trade could point them in the right direction.
