Why This Trade Would Benefit The Boston Celtics
The NBA is a league where teams have been building duos and trios of stars in hopes of winning a championship. The Boston Celtics have been attempting to do this by finding a third player to team with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Russell Westbrook could be that elite option to take them to the next level.
The Celtics need some help in the frontcourt. Daniel Theis and Robert Williams were dominated during the Eastern Conference Finals a season ago. Tristian Thompson was added to the mix but the team could use some more help.
If they were to add Westbrook, this could continue to take pressure off the frontcourt. He is still one of the top guards in the league when healthy. Westbrook is a triple-double waiting to happen every night.
Some may be concerned that Westbrook needs the ball in his hands and that will take away from Tatum or Brown. This is something that Brad Stevens would be able to scheme for and put together a plan.
