Why This Trade Would Benefit The Sacramento Kings
There were some negative feelings coming from Buddy Hield towards the Sacramento Kings following the season. That likely hasn’t changed. Meanwhile, Bogdan Bogdanovic left in free agency— creating more of a pathway for Hield to get minutes. When it is all said and done, they might lose Hield in the end anyway.
The Kings have a franchise point guard to build around in De’Aaron Fox. He is averaging 21 points and 6.2 assists per game this season through six games. They drafted Tyrese Haliburton who could be Fox’s backcourt mate of the future.
Sometimes a change of scenery could do some good for players and that is what the Kings would be hoping for here. Kevin Knox and Frank Ntilikina are in positions where they need to be moved. Their time in New York is not going to improve so it is time to see if they can develop with another organization.
Sacramento could look to surround Fox with some other pieces along the perimeter. Ntilikina and Knox could turn into bench players in Sacramento if used the right way.
