Why This Trade Would Benefit The Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics struggled down low during the NBA postseason and did not make any big moves when they were expected to. Tristan Thompson is an improvement but they could use some more help. The Celtics had three first-round picks that were thought to be used to move up or land an impact big, but that was not the case.

There are few better players on the defensive end than Draymond Green. Despite his size, Green is a load down low and can bang with any of the top bigs in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics would be able to go with a small ball lineup at times playing him as a center, too.

This is a factor that has been holding the Celtics back for a few NBA seasons now and Green would take them to the next level. They would not have to give up too much in this trade other than some younger prospects when considering the size of the contract they’d be taking on.

Green is a winning player and some might even call him the heartbeat of those championship Warrior teams. Some like him and some don’t, but he is a player you want on your team because of his toughness and will to win.
