Why the Trade Benefits the Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls have some big-name players but have still been near the bottom of the conference over the last few years. This could lead them towards a rebuild and trading away some stars with land them big returns.
Lauri Markkanen is one of the players that would land the Bulls a return. He has struggled with injuries over the last few years but is effective when on the floor. The Bulls would be able to pair Kendrick Nunn and Coby White in the backcourt for years to come.
They would also land a first-round pick that could be used in another deal if needed. Billy Donovan has the task of rebuilding this Bulls roster and trading away some NBA stars would help him do that immediately.
It seems difficult to trade away players like Zach LaVine and Markannen, but the Bulls have been near the bottom with them so they could certainly do it without them. This deal would benefit them in the future and with their current plan of action.
