Can Stephen Curry Win His Third NBA MVP Award?

Stephen Curry, especially without Klay Thompson, is the anchor of the Golden State Warriors and is primed to have a huge season. There are no limits to what Stephen Curry can achieve as the focal point of the Golden State Warriors this season and could wind up having his best season of his career.

It is not out of question to think that Stephen Curry could average upwards of 30 points per game this season and with his fellow “Splash Brother” being out for the year, Curry could see an increase in three-point opportunities.

The 43.5% career three-point shooter is not only one of the most lethal shooters in today’s game, but in the history of the NBA, as he ranks third on the all-time three-pointers made list and could potentially pass Reggie Miller for second on the list this season.

If Stephen is going to have an MVP-like season and challenge Giannis Antetokounmpo for the award, then not only is he going to have to be great, but the entire Golden State Warriors team will have to have an MVP season as a whole. Curry can score every point for Golden State this year, but if they do not make the playoffs as one of the better teams in the league, the MVP award will not be given to Curry.

If he is able to win the NBA MVP this year and is able to help take the Warriors deep into the playoffs, he will not only solidify himself as one of the all-time greatest players in NBA history, but will prove to everyone around the league that the Warriors are not going anywhere anytime soon.

This year’s Golden State Warriors team has the most question marks surrounding them compared to any other team in the league and if they are going to make the playoffs this season, it will be because of Curry’s playmaking abilities. He makes everyone around him better and could wind up being the league MVP once again if he can play at one of the highest-levels of his career this season.
