Why The Trade Benefits The Pistons

If the Pistons truly are rebuilding, then sending away their veteran players for younger options with great potential would benefit them immediately. That is what they would be doing in this trade sending Derrick Rose to Boston.

Danny Ainge is one of the best basketball minds there is. If he believes Romeo Langford has untapped potential, then that most likely means that he’s going to be an impact player soon.

The Pistons used the seventh overall pick on Killian Hayes in the draft. He is most likely going to be the starting point guard heading into the season. Langford is another young back-court option that could help shape the franchise when healthy.

Langford’s name has been thrown around in trade rumors, but Ainge has wanted to keep hold of him thus far. It will be interesting to see if Detroit is able to pry him away early in the season.

Looking to the future, Langford and Hayes could give the Pistons a very talented and young back-court duo to build around.
