Andrew Wiggins Will Finish As Second-Leading Scorer On Warriors

For some reason, the former No. 1 overall pick does not get the credit he deserves. In his first four years in the league with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Andrew Wiggins missed just one game and never averaged less than 16.9 points per game. He continued to grow as a player over the course of his first few years in the league and in his third season in the NBA, he averaged 23.6 points and shot 35.6% from three-point range.

Regardless of what people think about Andrew Wiggins, he has proven himself time and time again that he can be a great offensive weapon. The main reason he probably receives a lot of criticism is because he was the second-best option on a terrible team over the years.

With the Warriors, Wiggins does not have to worry about being “the guy” as Stephen Curry is the team’s leader, which could prove beneficial for Wiggins over the course of a full season. While he has not been as reliable from three-point range over his 6 years in the NBA, shooting just 33.2% from deep, Wiggins makes up for his lack of perimeter play by using his athleticism to get him to the rim.

He has never averaged less than 16.9 points over the course of his career and with the Warriors, could end up being their second-best scorer this year. It is expected that the Warriors will look to utilize him in transition, leading to a lot of two-on-one and three-on-two fastbreaks, but Wiggins has proven himself to be a reliable scorer in the half-court as well.

Stephen Curry can not do everything on his own and with Klay Thompson out, he will need a new No. 2 option, which is why Andrew Wiggins could be on track to have a fantastic season. He has bulked up a lot this offseason and after spending the entire offseason with the Warriors coaching staff and players, he could emerge as a potential star this season.
