Golden State Warriors Will Win 40+ Games This Season

It may sound crazy, but when evaluating the Golden State Warriors’ chances for success this upcoming season, it is clear to see they can still compete at a high-level. Their projected starting lineup for the 2020-21 season is Stephen Curry, Kelly Oubre Jr, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, and James Wiseman, which is definitely a playoff-caliber roster.

Not to mention, the Warriors also have a pretty solid bench led by Kevon Looney, Eric Paschall, and veteran forward, Kent Bazemore, who decided to return to the Bay Area this offseason.

While they may not be the three-point shooting team they have been with Klay Thompson out for the year, Steve Kerr and the entire Warriors’ coaching staff, one of the best coaching staffs in the NBA, will figure out other ways for this team to succeed. While they have some young, unproven players like James Wiseman, Jordan Poole, and Alen Smailagic, all three will have roles for this team this year and could be on-track for big years.

With how competitive the league has become and with 13 teams having legit playoff potential in the Western Conference, everyone on the Golden State Warriors’ roster this year will have to elevate their play and if they reach their full potential, could be a very special team.

This upcoming season, the Warriors are a lot like the Oklahoma City Thunder last season. The Thunder were picked to finish near the bottom of the Western Conference last season and wound up finishing 5th with a 44-28 record. Much can be expected from the Warriors this season as they are not only in a better position than the Thunder were, but have a lot of athletic, offensive-minded talent on their roster.

Defensive could wind up being a problem for the Warriors this season, as they allowed the 7th most points to opponents last season, but teams will have to outscore Golden State this season to beat them. Offensive will be the key for the Warriors over the course of the 2020-21 NBA season and given their talents, they can finish with 40+ wins.
