Mikal Bridges Continues To Improve As Offensive Threat

With Kelly Oubre Jr. on the wing for the Phoenix Suns the last year and a half, Mikal Bridges has been inserted into the starting lineup here and there but has not had much sustainability. This season, he will not only be the team’s starting small-forward, but he will help the Suns greatly on the offensive end of the court with Chris Paul leading the offense.

Last year, Mikal Bridges averaged 9.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and shot 51% from the floor, 36.1% from three-point range. His field goal percentage increased nearly 8% from his rookie season and his three-point percentage increased about 3% as well.

With a legit point guard in Chris Paul being able to find him anywhere on the court, Mikal Bridges will continue to improve his shooting numbers and should be a double-digit scorer for the Phoenix Suns this year. Bridges is a winner and does what he needs to do in order for his team to win, which is exactly what he did at Villanova.

He was instrumental in both of Villanova’s two championship runs while he was there and changed his playstyle from being a drive-first wing, to a catch-and-shoot three-pointer. Mikal Bridges is an extremely versatile two-way player and will step into a bigger role with the Phoenix Suns this season.

Look for Mikal Bridges to make an impact early on in the season and help lead the Suns back to the playoffs for the first time since 2010.
