Al Horford Has An All-Around Solid Season

Last year, prior to the 2019-20 season, Al Horford signed a four-year, $109M contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. After one disappointing season with the Sixers, they sent Horford to the Oklahoma City Thunder and now at 34-years old, Al Horford will look to prove that he still has a few years left of competing in him.

Last season with the 76ers, Horford averaged 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and shot 45.0% from the floor, all three stats being his lowest since his first few years in the league. This season though, Al Horford will not only look to be a veteran leader for the young players on the Thunder, but will prove to the Thunder that he can be a leader for them until he is ready to retire.

While it might sound crazy, Al Horford is likely the second or third best scoring option on the Oklahoma City Thunder this season behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and they will definitely utilize him a lot this year. He will not be a guy that sits on the bench, nor is he a guy that will just sit and take up cap room.

The Oklahoma City Thunder intend on using Al Horford to his fullest this season and will look to see what he can bring to the table for them until the end of his career. Just two years ago, Horford was a big piece to the puzzle for the Boston Celtics and was a contributor down the stretch for them in the playoffs.

Expect to see Al Horford average between 12-15 points this season, adding 6-8 rebounds per game. After this season, Horford will definitely have a trade market as plenty of teams will look to trade for him given his leadership abilities and veteran presence, even though he is owed $53M for the next two years after the 2020-21 season.
