Bucks Will Not Finish With Best Record In Eastern Conference

For the last two seasons, the Milwaukee Bucks have finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference in the entire NBA. However, this season, that will not be the case as a new team in the East will dethrone the Bucks and Milwaukee will wind up finishing as the second or third best team.

The Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics are all teams who could possibly perform better than the Bucks over the course of the 72-game season. All three of these teams have the firepower to be able to not only outscore the Milwaukee Bucks, but be able to score down the stretch.

Last season the Milwaukee Bucks struggled in the fourth quarter of games, especially in the playoffs, which led to their eventual loss in the Eastern Conference Semifinals to the Miami Heat. This is one area that all three of the teams listed above excel at as they all have big time players who step up when it matters. Giannis Antetokounmpo can only do so much for the Bucks, especially when he is being double-teamed, so it should be interesting to see if Khris Middleton or Jrue Holiday step up when it matters most.

Ultimately, the Brooklyn Nets are the most well-rounded team in the entire Eastern Conference and should enter the year as one of the team’s to beat in the East. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are both fully healthy and ready to lead the Nets franchise to places it has never been before and it will be hard to take down this team.

As it stands right now on paper, the Bucks just do not have enough weapons to match up with the Nets, which is why they will not finish with the best record in the Eastern Conference or the NBA for the third consecutive season.
