Brooklyn Nets Look To Add Another Star At Trade Deadline
Even though they are one of the favorites to win the 2021 NBA Championship, I expect the Brooklyn Nets to be aggressive near the trade deadline and try to bring in another big name player like DeMar DeRozan, Victor Oladipo, or even James Harden. Given how much talent there is across the NBA, it takes a really good team to win a championship and if the Nets truly want to go “all-in” and contend for a championship, they may be willing to move guys like Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen to be able to do so.
This offseason, James Harden rumors circulated, and at one point, it seemed like there was a done deal to send Harden to the Brooklyn Nets and reunite him with his former OKC Thunder teammate, Kevin Durant. Trade rumors slowly started to dissipate and both the Nets and KD downplayed the fact that they were pursuing James Harden.
Whether some of these rumors are true and whether or not Durant was actively talking with Harden in hopes of landing him in a trade to Brooklyn, the fact that James Harden still wants out of Houston is no secret. He arrived at Houston’s training camp late and has been seen on social media partying with friends in night clubs, making his intentions of not wanting any part of the Houston Rockets clear.
The Brooklyn Nets have the ability to trade for another big time player near the trade deadline, it is just a matter of if they believe this is the right move to set themselves up for championship success. By cutting ties with two solid role players like Dinwiddie and LeVert for a player like Harden or DeRozan, the Nets really need to ask themselves if this would help them or hurt them.
Overall, whether they make a move or not, expect to see the Brooklyn Nets appear in plenty of trade rumors throughout the season and up until the trade deadline.
