Why the Trade Benefits the Philadelphia 76ers

The process for the Philadelphia 76ers is far from over. They are officially past the point of rebuilding and into the realm of being a disappointing team year in and year out. Philly has not been able to find any success in the postseason which means it is time to make some changes.

A big change to make would be to move Ben Simmons on the perimeter. He is not a three-point threat but he is capable of playing off the ball. Kemba Walker is a true point guard who can take the ball-handling responsibilities away from Simmons.

With a shot creator like Kemba Walker, the 76ers would become a far more versatile offensive threat in the half-court. Meanwhile. Simmons and Embiid would help cover up Walker’s shortcomings on the defensive end.

Basically, this deal would add another elite player to the 76eers in hopes of making a run come postseason time. This is something that has come to be expected but has not happened just yet.
