Mitchell Robinson – New York Knicks
Entering his third season in the NBA, Mitchell Robinson is primed to be an impact player for years to come. Not only is he one of the more athletic centers in the entire league, but Robinson is one of the best shot-blockers in the league as well. The 7-footer has been a very efficient player for the Knicks over the last two seasons and just last year, he led the league in field goal percentage, two-point field goal percentage and effective field goal percentage.
Mitchell Robinson averaged 9.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and shot a league high 74.2% from the floor on 341 attempts on the year. He missed just five games for the Knicks last season and when looking at players under the age of 24 in the league and when looking at big men under the age of 24 in the league, he is right there there at the top of the list with Bam Adebayo and DeAndre Ayton.
The Wizards ranked 24th in shot blocking last season and ranked second-to-last in defensive efficiency. The addition of Mitchell Robinson not only improves Washington in those two areas drastically, but helps Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal as well. Having a big guy as athletic as Robinson can help the Wizards a lot in transition and in the open-court.
Russell Westbrook is one of the best passers and assist-men in the entire NBA and having a guy that he can throw the ball up to for alley-oops underneath the rim not only draws a lot of attention to the paint, but leaves Bradley Beal open on the wing for open shots. Out of any center the Wizards could logistically trade for at this time, Mitchell Robinson is probably the best choice to help them on both ends of the court immediately.
