Why the Trade Benefits the New Orleans Pelicans

Terry Rozier spent the 2019-20 NBA season with the Charlotte Hornets. He played 63 games and average 34.3 minutes per night. During his time in Boston, Rozier emerged as a franchise point guard and Charlotte decided to pay him like one.

Rozier averaged 18 points on 42.3% from the field and 40.7% from three-point range. He is a guard with a dynamic skill set on the offense of end. He would help run the Pelicans’ offense and set up other players like Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson in a position to be successful.

At 26-years old, Rozier is in his prime and could continue with the Pelicans. In a trade, New Orleans would not have to give up too much. Redick is a veteran player who does not fit into the future plan of the organization.

After the Holiday trade, New Orleans is in need of depth at the point guard position. Rozier would not only help in that aspect but he would give the team a player to lean on at the position moving forward.
