This Heat-Pelicans trade gives Miami needed shooting

The Miami Heat could be in the market for some three-point shooting this offseason. They are strong from mid-range and down low but lack some shooting on the perimeter. A trade with the New Orleans Pelicans for JJ Redick could help fix that.

Aside from Duncan Robinson, there is no fear of Miami from beyond the arc. Jimmy Butler is working to improve and Tyler Herro can knock one down every now and then, but they could use a player that knows how to work out on the perimeter. One name that is available is Redick.

Redick is one of the top shooters of his generation. More importantly, he is a winning player. Redick has only missed the playoffs one time in his career, and it came this season with the Pelicans.

Redick would jump at the idea of playing with a contending team at this point in his career.

If a deal is to get done, it could look something like this for both the Miami Heat and New Orleans Pelicans featuring J.J. Redick.
