The Hypothetical Trade
Lakers Receive: Derrick Rose
Pistons Receive: Kyle Kuzma, 2022 First-Round Pick, 2023 Second-Round Pick
If the Lakers want to acquire Rose, they are not going to be able to get him cheap. Granted, no one would expect a dynamic guard to come cheap.
Moving on from Kuzma may not be of interest to the Lakers at this point in time. However, there is no question that Rose would be a good fit alongside LeBron James. If they are going all-in this offseason, this trade could make sense.
Rose ended up averaging 18.1 points per game to go along with 5.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds. He shot 49 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 30.6 percent of his three-point health. Over the last couple of years, Rose has looked like his old self.
Let’s take a closer look at why this trade would make sense for both teams involved.
