The amount of improvement that he showed from the 2018-19 season to the 2019-20 season was incredible. Ball is learning the game and he has a ton of potential to continue growing into.
New York has been pursuing big names over the last few years. Unfortunately, they have swung and missed on all of them. Ball is not a big name, but he is a quality player and is still just 22 years old.
Throwing in a second-round pick from the Wizards does make this a bit more intriguing. Washington is not going to be very good, which should make this pick a high second-round pick.
Ball would make an immediate difference for the Knicks. He is a true point guard who would be able to create for his teammates and is a growing scorer as well. This wouldn’t be a trade for a star, but he could turn into one with more hard work and development.
