Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Pelicans

After trading Jrue Holiday, a lot of fans would not be happy to see Lonzo Ball leave town. However, bringing in Dennis Smith Jr. could be a big win. Just a couple of short years ago, he was considered a future star.

Eric Bledsoe was also acquired in an offseason trade. He would be more than capable of stepping up and manning the starting point guard job.

Kevin Knox is another intriguing pickup. He has struggled since entering the league, but the talent is there. With a new team and coaching staff, perhaps he could unlock his potential and become a very good role player.

David Griffin has always found ways to make quality draft picks. Even though the Dallas first-round pick next offseason won’t be a lottery pick, the Pelicans could find another young piece to add to their roster or use it in a trade package.

Trading Ball would be a risky move, but this package could make it worth it. New Orleans might not have interest in this deal, but it could make sense.
