Rockets Receive: Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose

This would be a very intriguing trade all the way around. Houston has been one of the most active teams in rumors this offseason. Both James Harden and Westbrook have reportedly asked for a trade from the Rockets.

If the Pistons want to get involved, they could simply offer Rose and Griffin to the Rockets for Westbrook. Detroit would be getting star power back, but they would also be unloading two players that don’t really fit the long-term picture.

Westbrook would be able to come in and immediately be the face of the franchise that the Pistons build around. He had a huge year last season, averaging 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.0 assists.

Granted, Detroit may not have interest in Westbrook. They also may not want to move both Griffin and Rose to get him. But, this could be a potential option.

For the Rockets, acquiring both Griffin and Rose to play alongside Harden could be appealing. Maybe they would be able to convince “The Beard” to stick around with this trade.
